ⓦ W U N D E R B A R: Unsere Spendenaktion mit den sieben Booklet zum Fotofestival Baden brachte 644 Euro für die WE&ME Foundation for ME/CFS research
Sprachnachricht von Caroline Ströck von WE&ME Foundation for ME/CFS research
Millionen Menschen leben mit ME/CFS, viele davon bettlägerig.

🇬🇧 Some projects begin with an idea. Others begin with a feeling.
Dominika and I would like to present you with a personal copy of the booklet we created together. The project—and the 36 images within it—came to life during the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Media Days in mid-June 2026 and during our wanderings through the town of Baden.
Using various vintage analog cameras and 35mm film, we sought to capture not only the exhibitions but also the city’s unique atmosphere and mood—the people, the encounters, and the quiet moments found where garden art meets photographic art.
"With this booklet, we want to showcase Baden bei Wien as an atmospheric place of discovery. Shot on various vintage analog cameras using 35mm film, the 36 images capture people in conversation, paths through the city, public exhibition spaces, and quiet moments between garden art and photography. Our work serves as an invitation to see Baden anew—beyond the photo festival—as a city that is vibrant, open, and poetic."
We have complemented the booklet with handmade bookmarks crafted from the cardboard boxes of old film rolls. These unique little pieces reflect the project's materiality, bridging the images' analog origins with a personal touch.
Every euro from the sale of the booklet goes to the WE&ME Foundation.
Dominika met Kornelia Spahn—who suffers from ME/CFS—last year and interviewed her for weekly52. We met her again this year. Giving something back through our project is a matter close to our hearts.
We would like to sell seven copies from our limited edition of ten to the weekly52 community. We are donating the entire proceeds to the WE&ME Foundation, which supports ME/CFS research, and we are personally topping up the amount by an additional 52 euros. In this spirit, we would like to continue telling the story of the project and the Baden Photo Festival in the digital realm and share the underlying idea with our community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Lois Lammerhuber and the entire festival team for the inspiration, the openness, and the unique blend of photography, public space, and the city itself—a combination that allows Baden to be experienced in such an impressive way year after year. Dear Lois, your festival provided the framework that made it possible for this deeply personal project to come into being in the first place.
